Front Sight Base Light Mount

The most robust way to mount a modern weapon light to your old-school AR.  There are two parts that make up the mount: A clamp and a bracket.

THE CLAMP

• Machined 4140 alloy steel.  The clamp will expand and contract at the same rate as your barrel as it heats up and cools down during shooting.  This prevents the clamp from loosening during sustained fire.
• Black Nitride coated for corrosion prevention.
• Reversible, so you can have the light on the left or right side of the rifle.
• Hinged design, making installation very simple.  If you can’t figure it out, find an adult.  (or go to our instructions page)
• Optional sling socket installs on the opposite side of the light.

THE BRACKET

• Machined 6061-T6 aluminum.
• Mil-Spec hard anodized.
• Threads have stainless helical inserts installed.  This allows for stronger fastening and resistance to wear from repeated installation when you can’t decide which rifle to put it on.

There are currently 4 options for brackets:

Scout Short and Scout Long – These will work with the traditional 2 screw mounting design – Surefire, Streamlight, etc.

Scout Pro Short and Scout Pro Long – These will work with Surefire’s newer “Pro” mounting system.

See below, some examples of installed lights using the different brackets.  Dimension is from the front of the FSB to the front of the light.  Dimensions shown are approximate, this will depend on your actual light manufacturer, what head you have installed, etc.
